Yana Factor
Yana is a fifth-generation woodworker whose creations celebrate nature, sustainability, and the timeless art of craftsmanship. Using primarily windfallen native timbers as well as some upcycled exotic hardwoods, she combines intricate straw marquetry, inlaid silver, and mosaic-like designs of tiny wooden fragments to create jewellery that reflects the beauty of connection and the natural world. Each piece is a wearable work of art, inspired by the textures, tones, and patterns of the Irish landscape, with endgrain wood and vibrant straw offering a striking interplay of natural beauty and meticulous design.
Guided by a deep respect for the earth and its resources, Yana incorporates mindfulness practices into her work, honouring her craft’s legacy while innovating with materials. Her background in Ethnobotany influences every piece, fostering a connection between the artistry of wood and the rhythms of nature. Through her jewellery, art, and workshops, Yana shares her passion for creativity, mindfulness, and the beauty of the natural world.
