Surrounded by beautiful woodlands in the valley of Glendalough, basketmaker and willow sculptor Aoife, makes a range of traditional and contemporary baskets, bespoke art installations and offers courses in basket-making at her home workshop. Her work is inspired by the rich natural and cultural heritage of the valley. Aoife makes baskets that are handmade, one-off pieces to order, using willow, hazel, birch, oak and other locally sourced materials. Aoife offers a variety of basket-making courses in her purpose built workshop, for individuals and groups. A unique experience giving people the opportunity to partake in this ancient, artistic and engaging craft.
