Shuttle Knit is a not-for-profit social enterprise with a mission to improve the quality of life for Traveller women through meaningful employment. Established in 2001, we create a range of sustainable and ethical knitwear that reflect the artistry, culture, and resilience of the Irish Traveller community. Our vision is of an Ireland where Traveller culture is respected and celebrated. Through our work, we aim to build understanding and challenge negative attitudes, all while producing quality products that connect tradition with modern design.

Operating as a partnership between Traveller and settled women, Shuttle Knit offers not only employment but also empowerment. Our craft embodies a rich cultural heritage, with every stitch telling a story of creativity and sustainability. From bespoke knitwear to custom embroidery, our pieces honour the resourcefulness of Traveller traditions while embracing contemporary craftsmanship.We sell our products online, at craft fairs, and through direct customer engagement, working towards becoming a recognized indigenous brand that speaks proudly to the Traveller identity.
