My journey into the world of guitars started with my first guitar at the age of 11. Everything about guitars seemed to pique my interest. Little did I know that later in life the designing and building of guitars would become my passion….

As with a lot of guitarists the idea of building a guitar myself was planted firmly in the realm of impossible. However, this all changed when I met Chaim Factor of Hill Picket Studios. I had started attending a woodworking course building small boxes and pieces of furniture when he mentioned starting a lutherie course. Within the first 5 minutes of the first day of that course I knew that I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

The next 10 years were spent investing as much time as possible eagerly learning from as many luthiers as I could find. This led me to find Lagan Lutherie. Under the tutelage of Sam Irwin, I advanced enough to be able to take over as tutor back in Hill Picket Studio. Where I remained for the next 5 years.

In time I built a workshop in which to build my own guitars and was lucky enough to secure commissions from local and international artists. I began to acquire some of my own students. Very quickly I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be, so thus Lloyd Edward Guitars was born.
