My name is Huw O’Toole and I am the owner of Jacksmill which is a farm diversification and biodiversity project. Within Jacksmill is Hub 13, our repurposed family sawmill and joinery. The sawmill was used for generations by the O’Tooles in traditional design and handcrafted skills such as wheelwrighting, tool making and blacksmithing. Combining my woodworking and architectural background, I restored the sawmill and transformed it into a series of whorkshop office and studio spaces. The Hub was renovated to maintain the integrity and authentic features of the sawmill and provides the contemporary facilities that craft practitioners need to work and create.
