Christien Van Bussel works from her studio in Aughrim, Co Wiclow where she designs and makes pottery (tableware) and wooodturned objects.

She makes moulds of plaster in which she casts clay-slips to share the pottery. All pieces are glazed in bright colours and fired to 1250 degrees Celsius to make them strong and food safe.

Christien has wide teaching experience with both adults and children in both woodturning and pottery and is on the panel of tutors for the Design and Craft council of Ireland. She has been involved in their CRAFTed programme since 2008 and is also a tutor with the KWETB and works with groups of all ages and abilities. Her work is for sale in her studio and through the Irish Design shop in Drury street, Dublin.
