Muriel Beckett designs original individual wall hangings and floor rugs from her Greystones studio by the sea. Her inspiration is the landscape around her. Using linens and wools she handweaves each piece, expertly blending her unique mix of colours, pattern and texture on her Scandinavian floor looms.

Muriel’s studies in art and design in Dublin led her to woven textiles, followed by postgraduate study in Finland funded by a scholarship from The Irish Export Board.

Muriel is a member of Visual Artists Ireland, Contemporary Tapestry Artists Ireland, Portfolio selection @ The Design & Craft Council of Ireland, the Timelines Tapestry Group and The Wicklow Craft Foundation.
