Chaïm Factor
Chaïm Factor follows a long family tradition in woodworking, augmented by studies in Fine Art and Design, and a subsequent studies in Cire Perdue Bronze Casting, mould making, tool making and welding, and has developed an eclectic portfolio of work over the past 50 years. He has contributed to many projects of distinction by way of conservation and restoration, while in tandem has created an impressive portfolio of contemporary works, both large and small.
His ‘Design Elegance for Foodies’ range of products have sold in stores across Ireland and Europe, with one design being selected by MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) outlets in New York and Tokyo. He was awarded a Best Product Award by DCCI (Design & Crafts Council of Ireland) and a Design and Innovation Award in 2020 by Wood Awards Ireland.
Since opening the Hill Picket Studio in 2009, Chaïm Factor hosts a limited number of woodworking classes, guiding beginners, intermediate and advanced participants to realising full potential. Attending participants come from all over Ireland, with many coming from Germany, France and other European countries. Such workshops are both project based and or technique focused.
Chaïm Factor continues to build on his design portfolio with new commissions.
